Wow! Rocking the Faith Confessions

Wow!

We’ve received some great feedback about our discussion regarding the Daily Faith Confessions we talked about at our Sun Stand Still Study Group and shared on the air. I have been diligently “preachin'” them to myself each morning as part of my morning routine. They originated from Elevation Church and were brought to our group in the study package. They (the staff who put together the package of materials) were awesome enough to share bookmark and business card-sized version of them. I carried one in my Sun Stand Still book, as a bookmark, for several weeks before I actually put it to work on me. It has been a great addition to my morning and especially interesting as one of them will jump out at me each morning.

As awesome as these are, I’ve been working to try to personalize the list a bit. As I shared with the group on Tuesday and on the air Wednesday, I was looking to add one that I could find in myself and in my growth with God. As I shared, I found in a random devotional an “oh, by the way” reference to Barnabus’s name meaning “Son of Encouragement.” Barnabus was the person who ushered Paul into the circle of Apostles who weren’t real warm to Paul upon his initial visit with them, post-Damascus experience and all. Inspired by a new attitude I’m trying to employ in the world, I’ve adopted Barnabus’s name and charge and added it to my Daily Faith Confessions.

After my crushing and revealing experience during the Awakening Weekend at which I served (and was amazingly fed), two additional messages came to me about who God wants to be; one of which was tremendously affirmed by the message from Bill Hybels that he gave to Saddleback Church in late October. The first is one that came to me while writing to the young lady who’s story broke my heart “I am a child of the Most High God, uniquely equipped to follow His unique path for me.” Truly something I had never said before, yet it flowed from me onto the paper like my name or address on an application. Props to Joel Osteen for planting the “child of the Most High God” in my heart.

So, here is the complete, modified list. Also the link to the Daily Faith Confessions will take you to a printable .pdf file that has a bookmark-sized version and one which can be cut and folded in half to give you a pocket-sized version. On the back of the bookmark version, there is space for you to include your own additions as you find them.

I pray that you’ll start filling yourself with a positive message on a daily message and that the result will be even better than awesomeness I’ve began experiencing in my own life.

Your feedback and suggestions are always appreciated.

Blessed to be a blessing–

RG

Power Outage and Its Impact

It appears there was a lengthy power outage downtown in our building on the square. Eventually, UPS’s run out of back-up time and our firewall/router is non-responsive to the computers on the network and Comcast’s feed. What this all means is that, we can’t feed online and can’t update the music log for tomorrow. Calls are out to our network support company, but there will be some additional worship music on Monday morning. We’ll get things back in order as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and prayers

New Voice On Air

Hope you’ve noticed a new, female voice on the WITW airwaves starting today. As we continue to tune-up our sound, Jennifer Randall joined the 93.5 frequency, lending her voice to our station identifiers and public service announcement pool. We hope to continue to add her docile tones to more of our airspace as we look to incorporate our morning program into the WITW schedule.

More on that in the (prayerfully hopeful) near future.

As always, we’d love your feedback about the station’s presentation, how you incorporate it into your day and some additional things we can consider to continue to improve and serve. You can leave your comments here, on our Facebook page or email rg@WITW935.com.

Have a blessed weekend!

Testing Testing

The feedback from listeners has been very helpful. This week, in conjunction with the potentially bad weather, we are testing some changes in our studio set-up. To do this, we will have a live morning program to provide some local information and weather. If there are closings, we will do our best to pass those along as well.

Please join us and be a part of the show. You can leave us a comment on our Facebook page, send us a message on Twitter (@WITW935) or email (info@WITW935.com).

New Sound

Starting this week, a refreshed sound is filling the 93.5 airwaves in Valparaiso. WITW-LPFM has tuned up its sound and made improvements to address hiccups that have caused some down time. The station format can be described as Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) with an Adult lean. Nighttime on the air will include some additional songs with a bit more of a Christian Rock slant.

The changes have brought the most current hits from CCM artists to the air as well as reviewing some of the older music and adding some additional songs as needed. Featured artists include Matthew West, MercyMe, Third Day, Switchfoot, Brandon Heath, Francesca Battistelli, Newsboys, Britt Nicole, Sanctus Real, Chris Tomlin and many others.

Additionally, WITW is looking to feature music from local artist with a weekly Local and New Music Show. It will be a great opportunity to hear music from local Christian artists as well as be on the leading edge of what’s happening on a national level in the Christian Music scene. Artists interested in submitting music can mail or drop it by the WITW Studios, 100 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN 46383 care of Local Artists.

WITW will also be looking for a few church partners who are interested in using time on Sunday mornings and possibly a weeknight to share their message with Valparaiso. Contact RG for more information (RG@WITW935.com) or call (219) 462-0809.

We would love to hear your feedback and suggestions. You can leave a comment on our Facebook page, Tweet us (@WITW935) or email (info@WiTW935.com). By following on Twitter and/or “Like”‘ing the WITW fan page, listeners can see new songs added to the rotation as well as what’s at the top of the WITW Charts.
